The 6th Bi Annual Trip tool place in Nov 2025 when 16 people travelled to AGADIR
to play in the BRITISH INCLUSIVE GOLFS prestigious CAPTAINS SHIELD EVENT.
AGADIR is a very resort based on the west course of Morocco on the Atlantic coast. Temperatures in November where low 70s so very pleasant indeed.
We stayed at the IBEROSTAR, FOUNTY WAVE ALL INCLUSIVE RESORT ON A JET 2 Package with golf arranged by Golf Travel.
The flight out was to say the least interesting our planes flaps stuck and we circled around for other 2 hours to burn off sufficient fuel to attempt to reland at Manchester.
Thanks to the professionalism of the crew we landed safely and did not need the safety vehicles waiting in attendance after a very frightening landing.
We played 3 rounds over the trip. Two at Golf Du Soliel , the TIKIDA course and its CHAMPIONSHIP Course. Our other course being the DUNES course..
The course at SOLIEL where both exceptional parkland courses, hard to believe you where in the desert. Both really well cared for and the rapid Greens are exceptional. The Dunes is a much shorter, very quirky layout. I loved it, lots of dog legs, elevation changes, bunkers everywhere and water hazards made course management as important as ball striking. The clubhouse is not yet finished so social opportunities in hole 19 are sadly non existent at moment.
The other courses locally are the highly rated links course The TAZEGOUT, the OCEAN CLUB and ROYAL GOLF CLUB. So its an excellent base for a beach side, all inclusive GOLFING VACATION.

The competition for the Captains Shield was played over 2 days of individual stableford over 2 days combined. After a summer of no golf whilst undergoing radiotherapy my individual expectations where naturally low, however with 33 and 35 points, i only went and won the thing. got to admit i shed a tear or two.

The last day was a fun day 4 man Texas scramble always a highlight of any BIG TRIP. Thanks in the main to young James Gallagher ably assisted by Kevin Booth, I was part of another winning team. Sincere thanks to all the golfers for supporting the event and the wives and children too, who continue to make this such a popular trip. We shall endeavour to maintain the standard of golfing, hotel and resort choices in future trips too. It remains our philosophy to offer a vacation to a destination not previously visited. SO WATCH THIS SPACE.
